The state of honor this week is Kansas. Famously mentioned in the Wizard of Oz "Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", this state(territory) was part of the Louisiana purchase from the French in 1803. The state flower is the sunflower and this cupcake follows that lead. A vanilla cupcake is filled with a sunflower seed ganache and topped with vanilla buttercream and more sunflower seeds. A cupcake a day brings sweet bliss your way. (BTW - the cupcake challenge is 1/3 complete!)
